Indian Creek is a village in the Vernon township of Lake County, Illinois, United States. It is considered part of the Chicago metropolitan area and was originally incorporated in 1958 as a response to the threat of annexation by neighboring Vernon Hills. As of the 2000 census, Indian Creek's land area of .3 square miles and population of 194 made it the smallest incorporated town in the county, although since 2000, a new housing development may have doubled the village's population [1].
